Today, we’re turning up the flavor dial with a recipe that’s pure grill magic. Bacon-wrapped Burger-stuffed Onion Rings. We’re going to be turning our grill into a smoker for a flavor-packed journey using some cherry wood chips and a smoker box
Ingredients:
⁃ ground beef
⁃ large sweet onions
⁃ ZOE Salt and pepper
⁃ bacon
⁃ Smokin Jon’s Cuban Bbq Sauce
⁃ Smokin Jon’s Kansas City Bbq Spice
Steps:
1. Soak wood chips for 30 min then strain and add to smoker box
2. Remove one sear plate from the grill and replace with smoker box.
3. Preheat grill to medium low temp (250-275)
4. Slice the onion into 1/2 inch slices
5. Place 1/4 pound of burger on the inside of a large sliced onion.
6. Form a hole in the middle and insert a smaller onion that will fit on the inside of the larger onion.
7. Carefully wrap with some bacon.
8. Season using salt, pepper and BBQ rub.
9. Grill the stuffed onion rings on medium low for 60 minutes. Flipping halfway
10. Brush BBQ sauce on the outside of the bacon the last 15 minutes.
11. Remove it once the sauce thickens up and the beef reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
12. Serve them up with more BBQ Sauce Sauce to dip and enjoy!
